Children are super impressionable this is why I feel less advertisement should be used on them.

I was recently thinking about advertisements for children and the impact this can have on them and their parents. I personally feel it would be better if advertisement was not used on children. Young children’s minds are so impressionable and it is not fair for them to have the pressure of wanting things that aren’t actually necessary. Plus this can cause stress on the relationship between the parent and child from the child using “pester power” to get something they saw in an ad. However, I understand this is how many businesses make money and it would also be unrealistic to ban advertisements for children since you would not know whether an adult or child was watching something. However, there could be fewer ads or no ads placed on shows or games specifically made for children.

I will be completely honest by saying I completely forgot it was the Superbowl until I called my parents and they showed me the end of the game. That was a bit disappointing to my father that I did not know it was happening since football is such a big thing in the South, haha. However, even though I didn’t know it was the Super Bowl that night I still heard so many things in the media about the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl almost is not really about football but about commercials, political views, and musical propaganda as well. Everywhere you see commercials or even players of the football teams supporting something on the media through using the Super Bowl as an outlet on the media. It is pretty wild how all of this works.

I have always loved Valentine’s Day! Unfortunately, today’s media shows in commercials and on social media that if you're not single you can’t be happy. However, I couldn’t disagree with this more. Valentine’s Day is a day to share charity with others. I have my wonderful parents to thank for this understanding. My dad would not only give my mom flowers but all of us kids flowers as well and would make pink crepes for breakfast for us. My mom would always stay up late at night helping us make homemade Valentine’s for our class the night before. I also loved her tradition of making chocolate-covered strawberries together. We each would write loving letters to each other and it just made me feel so loved. To this day I carry on these traditions and I still write little sweet notes for family and close friends. It is also a day to remember you are so very loved by your Savior and your Heavenly Father. We can express our love and gratitude to them as well in prayer. I cherish Valentine...

Video Games - Fun but time-consuming

Here are some of the video games I used to play as a kid. If I am being completely honest video games can be a lot of fun, but they can also be very harmful. I remember as a kid playing all of these games with my siblings, cousins, parents, and even my nana. I have great memories of it and I felt like it was a great thing to bring us together. However, I also noticed times when my mom had to give my sister and me a two-hour limit on the Xbox whenever we got a new game because we would get caught up in beating it. I loved playing outside as a kid, and I'm grateful my parents had rules on it because I would hate to look back and see that video games took over my life. As I got into high school I just completely took video games off my phone and I have a personal rule to mainly only play video games if it's with others. This has helped me not to get distracted by video games and waste a lot of time in my life. Nowadays, I rarely ever play video games. But I often think about what ...
